‘You can’t fake this level of soul!’ - Declan Byrne, Triple J

A mentee of Australia’s high priestess of soul, Kylie Auldist, Laura is Melbourne’s newest soul artist, bringing her own take to the Melbourne scene.  A teenage protégé of ARIA-winning jazz legend Vince Jones, Laura Ingram has supported Clare Bowditch and Caiti Baker, has sung with the Canberra Symphony Orchestra and shared the stage with Thando, Allysha Joy (30/70) and Kylie Auldist at Malthouse Theatre in 2021.

A visual artist and graduate of Art History and English from Australia National University, she returned to her roots in original music and relocated to Melbourne in 2018. Partnering with producer Bob Knob (Emma Donovan, The Meltdown) at Hope Street Recordings, Laura recorded her debut single ‘Valentine’s Day’. Featuring musicians such as Dan Moungerman (The Bamboos),

Tom Martin (The Putbacks) and Richard Bradbeer (Olympia, Alex Lahe, Jen Cloher), Laura music fuses her soul, alt-country and pop influences with her own brand of empowering lyrics.

Her singles ‘Valentines Day’ (2020),and ‘Home for Christmas’, have been called “Fragile and fierce” (Beat Mag), “A romantic mood, [with] powerful vocals” (The Music) and Declan Byrne exclaimed “You can't fake this level of soul!”.

Receiving renewed airplay on Double J, Triple J, RRR 102.7FM, PBS 106.7FM and ABC Local, is a Triple J unearthed feature artist and has featured in Beat Mag, Forte and The Music, Laura’s powerful debut singles are an electrifying preview of whats to come from her forthcoming album.
